Well hello there everyone!! We haven’t posted in such a long time and we are so sorry! It’s been absolutely hectic with school, driving lessons and music commitments lately! But, we hope everyone had an amazing new year and we hope 2015 will be a good one!
We have been feeling very optimistic about this New Year, and we are very firm believers that a new year can definitely mean a new start! At the end of 2014 we both made a very important decision; we decided to turn vegetarians (well, pescetarians because it’s the only compromise we could make with the madre). We had been thinking about it for a while, and it just seemed like the right thing to do. It’s been such a positive change in our lives so far, and we hope it continues throughout the year. We’re not really big on New Year’s resolutions, because we like to set ourselves targets throughout the year, not just at the start! However, we have made two resolutions that we hope to keep this year, and every year to come. Firstly, we want to think more positively this year. We are both rubbish at finding the positives in a situation because we are very much pessimistic. Every situation has positives and negatives, but we always seem to focus on the bad. However, we hope to change this about ourselves. The second was to stay motivated in everything we do. Whether it’s writing blog posts, or school work, we just want to stay motivated and give 100% in everything we do. Hopefully this will help us get a little less stressed too…! What are your aims for the year?
Phew! With all that out of the way we should probably start talking about our TBR Jar Challenge, because that is what this blog post was meant to be about!! One of our favourite BookTubers, Katytasic uploaded a video on this TBR Jar Challenge, and we really wanted to join the challenge because it looked awesome! (Check out Kat’s channel here: youtube.com/Katytastic). Basically, every month of the year, we have to pick out and complete a different book challenge from the jar. The challenges are:
-Read a book with 500+ pages
-Reread a favourite book
-Read a 2015 debut novel
-Read a book that someone else picks
-Listen to an audiobook
-Read a book you DNF’d / gave up on
-Read a new-to-you author
-Read a book that is not a novel
-Read/watch a book and its adaptation
-Read an award winning novel
-Read a classic novel
-Read a series finale
This month we picked out “Read a book that someone else picks”, and asked Kat herself to pick a book for us! (Thank you Kat!!!) She chose “Rebel Belle” by Rachel Hawkins which we will be reviewing soon… At the end of every month, we hope to post an update on the challenge letting you guys know how we are getting on, and which book we read from the TBR Jar. (May we just add, we totally failed and used an old pickle jar which absolutely STINKS every time we take the lid off the thing!)
Join us in the TBR Jar Challenge and make a Jar of your own (preferably not one that will set off your gag reflexes every time you open the lid). Watch Kat’s video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsxx9UYM5x0
If you do decide to try out Kat’s challenge leave a comment letting us know!
Thank you for reading this post everyone!
